National Savings and Investments (NS&I) have recently launched an advertising campaign to help people trace their missing money.

According to research by NSI there is £435 million lying in dormant accounts that people have apparently forgotten about. One of these accounts has a balance of £184,000 that someone has just abandoned. The average balance in the dormant accounts is however only £3.86.

So have a think and see if you can remember opening a bank account and never withdrawing the money to close it and hopefully you will be one of the people that the NSI are trying to put back in touch with their long lost money.
