  • Paid Surveys

Whenever I have searched for money making ideas on the internet I always come across paid surveys. There are loads of these survey sites some of which require you to pay a membership fee which to me seems a bit cheeky as the main idea is that you are getting paid for giving these sites your time and thoughts not for them to get paid by you.

Anyway I found some free to join survey sites at 123surveys. There were a variety to choose from depending on whether you stay in the US, UK or elsewhere in the world. Joining seemed fairly easy but earning money seems to take a bit longer as I've only been sent a handful of surveys to date but surely there must be some money to be made from surveys otherwise why else would they be advertised all over the net?

  • Wages - where do you fit in?

If you hare curious to find out how your wages compare against other peoples in the UK then there is a useful tool on the Institute for Fiscal Studies website at http://www.ifs.org.uk/wheredoyoufitin/

All you need to do is enter some information about the number of adults and children in your household, your household income and details of council tax and the website produces a graph which shows where you fit in the UK.

  • Cashbackkings

Cashbackkings is a new cashback rewards site guaranteeing to beat any other cashback site in terms of the rebates it offers. This should make it a lot easier to get the best deal as at the moment different cash back sites offer different amounts of rebates meaning you really do have to shop around to get the best deal.

How reliable is cashbackking well it is obviously new but it already has a lot of good cashback deals available and it is brought to us by that other well respected cashback site Rpoints.

  • Missing money

National Savings and Investments (NS&I) have recently launched an advertising campaign to help people trace their missing money.

According to research by NSI there is £435 million lying in dormant accounts that people have apparently forgotten about. One of these accounts has a balance of £184,000 that someone has just abandoned. The average balance in the dormant accounts is however only £3.86.

So have a think and see if you can remember opening a bank account and never withdrawing the money to close it and hopefully you will be one of the people that the NSI are trying to put back in touch with their long lost money.

  • 5 money saving tips

My top 5 money saving tips are

1)Review your mortgage especially if you are on a standard mortgage as you could literally save thousands.

2)Get a 0% interest credit card and avoid having to pay interest on your borrowings.

3)Given that some gas and electricity suppliers have started to deop their prices make sure you're supplier is dropping yours.

4)Use a rewards card if you shop such as a Tesco Clubcard or a Nectar card if you shop on the High Street or use a cashback reward site if you shop online such as Rpoints or Topcashback.

5)If you are a smoker then give up smoking and stop burning your money.
